Paralegal - Personal Injury, Pre-Litigation

Summary:  Investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist Lawyer by performing the following duties.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Communication with clients, witnesses, insurance adjusters, medical providers, expert witnesses, and consultants;
  • Prioritizing and responding to client needs; 
  • Maintain case management information in case management database;
  • Prepares legal documents such as pleadings and demand letters, in accordance with supervisor guidelines;
  • Reviews facts and law of case to assist Lawyer with determining causes of action;
  • Negotiate demands, as needed;
  • Delivers or directs delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action, when requested; 
  • Review, redact, and summarize medical records; and 
  • Move cases forward by timely scheduling and daily review of all incoming case documents and medical/billing records.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
